The colorful emerging leaf buds on the trees are a signal that the long Winter in the Northwoods is over and Spring is arriving. By shooting from an elevated position relative to the trees, the water of the lake made a smooth background, isolating the subjects. Image made with Canon 7D and Canon 18-135mm IS lens at 103 mm focal length. Exposure was 1/40 second, F 8.0, and ISO 800.
