Driving through Sonoma Valley last summer, I was searching for a view of the lush vineyards filling the valley. Finally, near the end of the day I saw a distant patchwork vineyard through the car window to the west. Stopping quickly, I put on my longest lens, a 200 mm equivalent telephoto, to foreshorten the perspective and juxtapose the delicate distant field with the more earthy near field.
