During a visit at the Louvre, I was struck by this scene. The artistry of the real world outside the Louvre obviously held more value for this young girl than the priceless works of art displayed inside its walls. For her, it seemed to me, inside the Louvre was a dark world and outside the Louvre was a bright world. I tried to capture this contrast in mood and context in this image, with just enough natural light coming through the window to make the shot possible, as no flash photography is allowed inside the Louvre.
Olympus E-30; Zuiko 14-45; 1/100; f3.5; 14mm; ISO 125; cropped and converted to B&W with "basic" adjustments in Lightroom.
