In winter, the sunlight hits the Eastern Sierra at a sideways angle, lighting up the snow in a beam that travels across the entire range. I was trying for longer views to capture this beautiful light when I realized a close up would be much better. This is Mt. Tom, just above the Owens Valley in California.
