Taken at Kingswood Park in Mason, OH (Cincinnati) during Cincy3's professional CX (Cyclo-cross) Men's race where I captured 2014 US National Champion Jeremy Powers crossing a ditch.

My objective was to capture what I call "focused blur" of riders based on a slow shutter speed of 1/15 seconds coupled with a flash of 1/60th second along with a first-curtain synch which, if captured at the decisive moment, creates this type of action blur.

The blur of the tires is caused by the rider carrying his bike over the ditch and then moving it to his left in preparation of remounting the bike to continue on the course.
