I took this image with a Nikon D7000 200mm, F5.6 Shutter 500 Handheld.
This image was a little tricky to set up with no flash and just indoor natural window lighting.
I call shallow DOF "Selective Focus" also. To me this technique
is challenging and a lot of fun! The diagonal vanishing point perspectives have always been fun to view, especially with shallow DOF.
Also when the out of focus part of the image is related to the focused part. it creates the design principle of "emphasis". With this one can create stories or narratives.
With the Dolls, I realized I could do a lot of animation. An example was when the dolls were all turned to the side except the the middle one.
