this is my favorite image of our local railyard near uptown charlotte. i had a plan to shoot from this location and i was on my way walking up the bridge which has the best vantage point, and as i approached i noticed that the train in the foreground of this image was leaving the yard. i wasn't quite ready for this shot, but i saw a great image that would soon be gone without that train in it. so i ran up to the crest of the bridge as fast as i could, pulled out my camera and captured this image just in time. any later, and that train would have been gone and the image wouldn't be nearly as interesting. came down to good location scouting and even better timing i suppose.
image was adjusted in lightroom and photoshop.
