Canon celebrates the 20th anniversary of its top-selling EOS single lens reflex
camera system by announcing the EOS-1D Mark III Digital SLR, the world's
fastest digital SLR camera. At 10 frames per second, the 10.1 megapixel EOS-1D
Mark III digital SLR can fire huge motor-driven bursts of 110 Large JPEGs or
30 RAW files because it employs the new Dual DIGIC III image processor engine,
providing enough computational horsepower to do parallel processing at a rate
unmatched by any other digital SLR. The all-new 10.1 megapixel, APS-H size CMOS
sensor which is designed and manufactured by Canon, is the most light-sensitive
and innovative sensor that Canon has developed to date. It features a new microlens
array and a more efficient pixel structure for ultra-low noise, resulting in
exceptional image quality and an amazing ISO range of 100 to 3200 with extensions
to ISO 50 and a highly usable ISO 6400. Furthermore, Canon today unveils several

Samsung Camera has unveiled the newest addition to its NV series of advanced
point & shoot digital cameras -- the NV11. The NV11 features a premium
Schneider lens, as well as Samsung's intuitive Smart Touch user interface
which enables easy navigation of the camera's comprehensive feature set
by simply sliding a finger across its control buttons positioned around the
2.7" high definition LCD. The 10 megapixel, 5x optical zoom NV11 has 1600
ISO high-sensitivity and features Samsung's proprietary ASR image stabilization
system.

Lexar has introduced Professional UDMA (Ultra Direct Memory Access) memory
cards, the latest addition to the company's Professional line of high-performance
cards. When paired with a UDMA-enabled device, such as Lexar's new Professional
FireWire 800 Reader, UDMA cards improve the professional photographer's
digital imaging experience by reducing the time needed to download captured
images to a destination computer. In addition, the benefits of Lexar Professional
UDMA memory cards extend well beyond card-to-computer transfer rates, to improved
in-camera performance in several UDMA-enabled digital camera backs and digital
SLR cameras expected to be announced later this year. Speed-rated at 300x, or
capable of a minimum sustained write speed of 45MB per second, and available
in capacities of 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB, new Lexar Professional UDMA cards deliver
a 125% performance improvement over Lexar's previous generation 133x CompactFlash®
product line when the card is used with a UDMA-enabled device.
