This image (a 50% crop of the original) was taken from about 85 feet away along the Zambezi River. A Nikon D600 was used with a Nikkor 80-400 mm VR lens at 400 mm. The exposure was f/8 and 1/1000 sec (ISO 800). Most of the other crocodiles that we saw were motionless, basking in the sun along the shore. We must have interrupted this fellow’s nap.
