You never know what the weather is going to be like when shooting fireworks. We can plan in advance the tides, but the atmosphere is always changing and that is a lot of fun monitoring that stuff. On this particular session at the Venice Inlet(southside), the wind was blowing parallel with the beach, 12-15 kts.
I just experienced night time heavy surf with long exposure. The camera was stable, the Gulf of Mexico was not!
Salvaging the night, I kept at it. Looking at all my files I noticed movement from lights on the boats. That didn't work for me, so I fixed them in post. I also cropped this photo down for presentation.
