This tree in our backyard is only a few years old, but produces bright red buds in early Spring that turn to rose before finally opening into sprays of these exquisite white flowers. Tinges of pink are still visible along some, especially on the upper left bud that's just beginning to unfurl.
I waited several weeks for the blossoms to be near their peak and on the morning of my shoot, I discovered a group of flowers, all at different stages of blooming. I was blessed with both a cloudy overcast sky and the little black bug that landed on the uppermost leaf in the left hand corner, and allowed him time to settle before clicking the shutter.
