I was in the Great Smoky Mountains Nat'l Park on the 7 mile road from Townsend, TN to Cades Cove. I passed a bend in the river on a Tuesday, and the golden reflections of the morning sun caught my eye...but only for a split-second or two as I drove past. I made a mental note to take a better look on Wednesday. Wednesday came and I slowed to take more than just a glimpse...Beautiful! But now there was a car behind me and nowhere to pull over. I had passed the only pull-off in the area. On Thursday I got lucky. It was another sunny beginning to the day, and this time I was prepared to stop. I did, and here's the photo.
