During a recent visit to the south island of New Zealand, we made a quick detour in an attempt to see the well-known and much photographed lone tree of Lake Wananka before the sun sank behind the Southern Alps for the day. Aided by skilled navigating and a bit of luck, we made it just in time to enjoy this peaceful scene during the last bit of afternoon light. Canon 6D, ISO 800, 1/320, f/22.
