This photo was captured in a small shanty town in Mexico {unknown village) as I was driving back from some ruins and got lost trying to avoid heavy traffic and low on gas.
I decided to venture into this little village that seemed untouched by anything commercial other than local beer ads and thought maybe I could snap a shot of something good. While walking on the street I noticed this red wall, I was taking the picture from the cover of my extra t-shirt and hat that was draped over my left arm (camera hidden under with just the lens peeking out (as not to draw attention to my 5D) it was covered and balanced above the elbow.
I had it set to burst and took 20 or 30 pictures as I walked by from the other side of the sidewalk mostly trying to capture the wall and didn't take notice of a couple sitting until in post.
Upon later review I noticed a couple in front of the shot having what seemed to be a serious discussion, uncomfortable conversation, or an event that had taken place...a surprise pregnancy?...break up? etc..I found it to be such fascinating body language that it couldn't be replicated in a staged photo shoot or other..Needless to say I thought I would share this for the competition. I Hope you enjoy.
