The Amazon river is 4018 miles long and crosses the upper part of Brazil from East to West. It is the second largest river in the world. It is first in total water flow carrying more than the next seven largest rivers in the world combined. The width of the river in low season is up to 6.2 miles wide and in the wet season up to 30 miles wide. When it flows into the Atlantic Ocean is is 150 miles wide. There is nothing quite like it in the world. Our adventure into the Amazon took us 1000 miles down and 1000 back up to the Atlantic. It was a dream come true and a true 'bucket-list' item.
