These puffins live in burrows on modest cliffs. On takeoff thye jump, gather speed and lift, and ultimately pull out before crashing into the ocean below. From a fishing boat, I waited for this moment, when one of them headed directly at me before turning to head out to sea, with its dark stone cliffs behind.
