This is shot of a Toucan that just plucked a berry from a tree and was taken in Tikal National Park, Guatemala. This type of Toucan I believe is called a "Banana Toucan" due to its bright yellow breast. I followed this fellow (gender unknown) from tree to tree trying to get him isolated against foliage rather than a blown out sky but also trying to not have plant matter in front of him and not having him blend into the background. He spent quite some time plucking berries from one tree but all those shots had a blown out sky behind him. After he plucked this last berry he flew to this tree about 20 yards away and perched for a few moments. I ran over to this new tree and was able to get a high speed burst of 6 frames before he flew off into the distance.
I shot this hand held with a Canon EOS 7d Mark II and Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens at 380mm (608mm 33mm equivalent) at f/5.6, 1/3200 sec, ISO 5000.
