My wife and I traveled 2.5 hours to Idaho Falls, Idaho to get shots of the Sun's total eclipse in August 2017. It took us over 7 hours to get back home because of the heavy traffic (not fun). We got photos from start to finish of the eclipse. This shot shows the black disk of the sun and its corona at totality. If you look closely you can see the sun's magnetic flux lines illuminated by the corona. Nikon D750 camera, Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 lens, Nikkor 1.4X teleconverter, Induro Stealth CLT403 tripod, Wimberly Gimbal head, Formatt 18 stop HiTech Filter, Nikon shutter release cable. Settings, 1/200 sec @ f/11, 700mm focal length, ISO 100.
