I had fun watching a pair of beautiful pileated woodpeckers playing tag team at their nest cavity. Shortly after Mama landed on the tree trunk, Papa appeared at the cavity entrance, giving me a chance to get ready before he took off. A few seconds after he left, Mama took over the nesting duties.
