Food photography is one of my favorite types of photography, which I do mainly for my own personal use, but it can be very challenging. For the most part, food is mainly a stationary subject, other than when it's in its liquid state. In many cases food can be as difficult to capture as a live subject. Due to its composition, it can seem almost alive. Foods like whipped cream, ice cream or leafy greens can change their look when exposed to warm temperatures. For this photo, I had to work quickly before the whipped cream started to lose its consistency.
One of my favorite aspects of food photography is not only the satisfaction when you get the shot you want, but also being able to enjoy the fruits of your labor, in this case, cookies and hot cocoa.
