Swallow-tailed bee-eater photographed near Deadvlei, Namibia, the oldest desert in the world. Though very much a sand blown desert there are spots where Camel Thorn Trees grow and these areas do attract a few different birds. The Atlantic ocean is about 50 kms away to the west but its all desert and no roads. Camera was a Canon 7D with a Canon 100-400 f4.5/5.6 telephoto lens at 400mm on a tripod. Settings for the photo are, aperture 5.6, speed 1/250 sec and ISO was 200.
