This surreal landscape presented itself to me early in the morning at Mesquite Flat Dunes. I was struck by the sporadic bushes contrasting with the delicately etched patterns in the sand and the glowing light from the rising sun on the distant mountains. This was photographed with a Nikon D 300 and Nikkor Zoom lens (18-200 mm.), with a 3 step Cokin Neutral Density Filter. I used a Gitzo Tripod and Arca-Swiss Head. The ISO was 200, F/14, 1/4th second exposure, and a Focal Length of 48 mm.
