I am an ecologist working in Alberta, Canada and I often take my camera with me during field studies. This Ukrainian church in the country side near Opal, Alberta is all that remains of one Alberta’s
Ukrainian communities. I was conducting a vegetation survey near this site and I asked one of the farmers in the area if the church was still used. He stated "The church only opens once in a while for funerals, as the old generation pass away. Everyone else has left looking for jobs elsewhere. One day the Parishoner will burn it down after everyone is gone, they do that to abandoned churches, something about tradition."
