Sometimes the most detailed planning has to be altered. After a mid-day scouting, I identified the perfect sunset spot to shoot Haystack Rock. I ended up arriving at the beach too late to get to my spot in time for the shot I wanted. So I found some interesting foreground texture and started shooting. Taken with a Canon 5D Mark III, 16-35mm L series lens and steadied with a Really Right Stuff tripod. Processed in Photoshop with NIK software plugins. By Dan Mottaz
