I got up at 3:30 to head out to Carvers Gap to hike the ridge-line on the Appalachian Trail. This section of the A.T. is one of my favorite places to just go and unwind. I headed up the trail with my headlamp on (It was still dark) and made my way to an out cropping of rocks to wait and watch the sunrise. Looking out over the valley below you could see all of the fog that seemed to create tiny little islands out of the mountain tops.
