Mile marker 1, on the first overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I was facing the Shenandoah Valley in this shot, waiting for the sun to rise. Clouds were rolling by and the moon shined brightly into the sky. As the sun rose, the moon and this star came in and out of the clouds. I wanted to get both of them in the same image. After about 15 shots, I finally got a break in the clouds and ended up getting them in the same shot just before the sun came up over the mountains below them.
