The Upper Mississippi River Wildlife and Fish Refuse is an area set aside for the protection of animals such as the Young Sandhill Crane that is pictured. Each year as summer rolls around the new arrivals seem to emerge from everywhere in the abundance of shoreline trees and brush to investigate the world in which they were born. To photograph this moment I used a Canon Rebel T6S camera, F/5.6, Shutter Speed 1/400 and ISO 640.
