This image is the interior of the Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittsburgh. After seeing other images of this building , I drove to Pittsburgh because I was fascinated by the Gothic columns and arches. The scale of the students on the floor to the height of the columns enhances the size and strength of the structure. I photographed this image with a NIkon D800 and a Nilon 12-120 f/54 VR lens at ISO 1250, f/13. I took seven bracketed images and combined them in Photomatix for the HDR effect. The black/white conversion was don in onOne software with further post-processing in Adobe Photoshop CS5.
