We were in Fl. and about 10:00 a.m. we found about the race is St. Petersburg and drove for 2 hrs. just starting the race. Only seat available were in a stand at a sharp turn, and I thought good place to be. I kept following the race looking through the lens all the time when the cars at this turn, and suddenly a big accident happened. I could take several frames, and I though this was the best. The car upside down in the air was driven by Marco Andretti and 5 cars were damaged out of the race. Some of the drivers were Hildebrand, Scott Dixon, Danica Patrick, E.Carpenter, Castroneves and Tony Kanaan. Neither driver was injured!!!.
Camera: Canon EOS 50D.
Lens: Canon EF-S18-200 at 100 mm.
ISO 200
Aperture: f/5.6 to get out of focus the fence (as much as possible).
Exposure: 1/2500 sec.
The upper image is after editing to delete the fence post etc. I used Adobe and the air brush to fix the cars behind the post. The lower image is the original. I thought this is a very unique shot.
