Early 2014 brought a few snowy owls to the New Jersey shore and in particular Island Beach State Park. After weeks of searching for them among the dunes, I finally found a male early one morning basking in the sunrise light. I was able to capture portraits of this one in particular until a female did a breeze by over my head. Luckily I was shooting fast enough to get a sharp photo and it became one of my favorites of the year.
