I was taking bird photos at a slough in the Point Loma area of San Diego. Egrets, herons, seagulls (of course), and numbers of other flying critters were numerous at about 3:00 that Fall afternoon. There was also a kestrel sitting on his nest on top of a very un-photogenic light pole.
Egrets are very graceful when coming in for a landing as photographers know. I was leading this one in at 7 fps, but got a bit ahead of my target. This image turned out to be my favorite -- even if I captured it somewhat unintentionally. I have dozens of egrets with their normal flight path. I have ONE of this.
I really like the zen-like position of the egret's right wing.
