This was taken 4 Sep 2014 at 7:25am, Second Beach, La Push, Washington State, USA. It definitely was a lesson in patience -- I'd been on the beach since 4:30am and was getting ready to pack it in when the sun broke over the forest on the bluffs behind me and lit up the top of this sea stack in a blazing orange glow. The reflection and the sand piper are a bonus -- almost like I planned it!
