Built in 1914/15 The Scott Monument situated in Roath Park Lake, Cardiff, was erected to commemorate the expedition to the South Pole, by Captain Robert Falcon Scott who sailed in the S,S. Terra Nova from the Port of CardiffJune 15th 1910, to locate the South Pole; and, in pursuit ofthat great and successful scientific task, laid down theirlives in the Antarctic Regions. March 1912.
