This was taken at Arches National Park late at night when the Milky Way was barely visible, which is what happens in January, when the earth doesn't face the center of the galaxy...the cave of the arch was lit with one light, while the surrounding rocks were light painted...the area was very difficult to light paint in order to highlight everything important to the image.
It was photographed with a Canon 5D Mark III and 15mm fisheye lens.
F2.8 at ISO 3200 for 25 seconds
