Right past the entrance sign from Cave City is one of the first trails you come to in Mammoth Cave National Park, it's the Sand Cave Trail. Beautiful easy walk (.01 miles). 10,000 people once stood here back in the day, they were patiently watching workers try to dig Floyd Collins out after a rock had pinned him in a narrow passage way. Floyd Collins had been the first known person to explore this cave.
