Ryan Deboodt’s Giant Cave Photography is Absolutely Astonishing
Adventure/travel photographer Ryan Deboodt has done much of his photography in Vietnam and in Bejing, China where he lives, but he's traveled throughout the world. All of his work is impressive, but the images he shoots inside caves is truly breathtaking.
Deboodt’s striking cave photography has been published by magazines and news outlets throughout the world, and he’s been featured online by both National Geographic and National Geographic Traveller. He was also an Honorable Mention recipient in the Big Picture Natural World Photo Competition.
In addition to his spectacular photography, Deboodt is an acclaimed cinematographer, and you can watch a reel of his latest work on his website.
When photographing the inside of large caves, Deboodt uses a GoPro attached to a camera drone in addition to his DSLR. In water-filled caves he travels by kayak.
The image at the top of this page was captured inside Vietnam’s Hang Son Soong cave—the largest known cave in the world. Its largest chamber is more than three miles long, almost 500 feet wide, and 600 feet tall.
You can see more of Deboodt's work on Instagram and by visiting his website.
