A group of Bighorn Sheep rests in the shade to escape the bright morning sun. One renegade sits and suns.
Waterton Canyon in Colorado is known for a herd of Bighorn Sheep, among other things. While I was visiting to attend my Niece's High School graduation nearby in Castle Rock, I slipped away for a short walk (3 1/2 miles) along the canyon trail hoping to see these incredible animals. I was thrilled to see them all together, and watched them for over an hour as they meandered around for a bit to forage, and then wandered back to the shade under a tree.
My Canon 70D was coupled with a Sigma 150-600 lens, stretched to the limit (don't want to get too close to these guys).
