While hiking along the edge of a local Trout stream I noticed this Trout surface feeding on insects. I set up my equipment and spent almost an hour trying to get the photo of the Trout just breaking the surface and downing the insect it was after. I took numerous photos in that hour before I finally got the photo I wanted. Timing was everything. Camera was a Canon 5D Mk III with the Canon 500mm f4 lens on a tripod. Settings as follows. Aperture was 5.6, speed was 1/4000 sec and ISO was at 800.
