Polar bears prefer to hunt on the sea ice, but when the ice is scarce, they are forced to hunt on land. This photo was taken from a Zodiac along the Svalbard coast. A Nikon D600 with a Nikkor 70-300 mm lens at 300 mm was used. The exposure was f/7.1 and 1/1600 sec (ISO 3200).
