Every year when the big lake freezes over, it becomes one of the few frozen landing strips in this area of the country. There are always the inevitable crash landings as evidenced in this photo from last March. The yellow plane in the background had crashed just a few hours earlier, shutting down the landing strip for some time before planes could resume landing. I captured this scene with a Nikon D3200 camera with a Tamron 18-270mm lens.
