The Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory shot from near the base of the west pylon by Fort Knox in Maine in 2012. As a professional civil engineer and amateur photographer I try to find the artistic side of "engineered" structures which typically put utility and cost ahead of design and beauty. Shot with a Nikon CoolPix L810 (1/800 s, f/3.1, 4 mm length, ISO 80). This was a good point and shoot that really got me interested in photography. I have since moved on to better equipment, but ultimately it is not equipment that make a good photograph or photographer.
