Nikon D200 with Nikon 70=200 f2.8 VR and 1.7 Teleconverter.
Choose ISO at 100 anf f29 for a slow shutter speed to make the water silky smooth.shutter was 1/6 sec.
Took about a dozen shots to get this one when the White Pelicans were are quite still.
Location was Le Hardy Rapids on the Yellowstone River in Yellowstone National Park.
Pelicans only congregate there when the cutthroat trout are swimming up river to spawn or, in this case, returning. Cutthroat trout do not die after spawning. I did pick the time when the sun had settled below the tree line so as to not get a very contrast image that would not work. Had to be subdue lighting.
