Thursday night I was on my normal golden hour patrol at the beach and noticed about twenty five pelicans surf fishing the shorebreak on a diminishing southwest wind. Every now and then one would come ashore and take a rest. You could literally just sit on the sand and fire away, which I did. I believe this is a female. The setting sun helped with the details. I used a Nikon next generation Coolpix for this shot. It has built in zoom and after numerous tries, I pulled off a good one. Venice Beach, Florida if you need it.
