This shot of a Bard Owl was taken in the Okefenokee Swamp, located in Southern Georgia and Northern Florida. I got lucky on this one because the tree trunk and it's branches made a natural frame for the main subject.
I must give credit to my guide who spotted the bird, then hand paddled our boat silently for about 30 minutes into position, so the owl didn't get spooked and fly away.
Sony Nex7, Tamron 18-200mm zoom set at 170mm, f11, 1/500th second,
ISO 800. I also used a light weight monopod
