This was taken in the Badlands National Park located in South Dakota. Many varied peaks and colors in a hostile land. We went during the spring while temperatures were relatively mild in the 80s. By July temps can get up in 90s or better hence the name Badlands. Not much water, grass ect to live on when people tried homesteading on this land in the 1800s. People tried to live on the land since the offer was if they can survive on the land five years they can keep the land. Most homesteaders left the area and even the local Lakota tribe would not live on the land. Lakota name for this area translated to Badlands. One of my favorite National Park I have visited to this day.
