I made this picture in the fall of 2012. On a business trip to Jacksonville Fl, I would stay in St Augustine to catch a few hours of photography in my spare time. I had just gotten the Olympus OMD EM5 4/3 mirror less camera. I stayed in a hotel across the street from this beautiful fort overlooking the water. I tried several different angles and compositions that day. When I walked away from the fort there was a little grass hill between me and the fort that gave the perspective that the fort was hanging out with the clouds. This was my favorite of the bunch.

I processed the image in Lightroom and converted to B&W in Nik Silver Effex Pro 2. I gave the clouds and sky a slight out of focus look, which I think adds a sense of mystery and character.
