Javelina are not well liked in the US and are hunted. I came across this beauty in Catalina State Park just north of Tucson. I had no problems with the herd that this one was part of and was able to photograph several of them including a few babies. I liked the expression this one delivered as I took the photo. The round black dot is actually a black spot in the animals fur just under its mouth but it looks as though it's an expression. Camera was a Canon 5 D Mk III with the Canon 500mm f4 lens on a tripod. Settings for this photo as follows. Aperture was 5.6, speed was 1/1000 sec and ISO was at 800.
