Image was taken at Hallo Bay, Alaska. In this area, cubs can stay as long as four years with the sow. Mom was propped against a log, a cub was feeding and the milk was flowing. There was a huge number of flies buzzing around mom but it didn't seem to bother her. Camera info: Nikon D4, Nikon 600 mm F4 lens, 1.4X teleconverter, Aperture F/5.6, 1/320 sec., +.33 exposure compensation and ISO 400. Author is Richard Rothstein and title is "Nursing her cub(and flies).
