While hiking through a Ponderosa Pine forest I noticed a pair of Northern Flickers busy going back and forth at a particular tree. I discovered a nest and set up my camera and waited for the right moment. Camera was a Canon 5D Mk III with a 500mm f4 lens on a tripod. Settings as follows, aperture was 5.6, speed was 1/400 sec and ISO was at 400.
