Looking Glass Rock has to be one of the most iconic mountains along the Blue Ridge Parkway, right up there with the Peaks of Otter and the Devil's Courthouse. I had left my house around 1a.m. to get there just as the sun started coming up at 5:30a.m. I had always wanted to shoot this location early in the morning and was very excited to finally just get up and go do it. This shot though, it was a last minute decision to take. I was actually packing my gear up to head down the parkway to find another spot. As I started to move my tripod, I noticed the flowers right at the edge of the curb. I decided to go ahead and take one more shot and showcase the entire scene.
I shot this using a Nikon D7000 with a Nikkorr 18-55mm Lens (Standard Issue) and a CPL filter on a Manfrotto BeFree Tripod using a Nikon shutter release.
